Joyous Light of Glory
Joyous Light of Glory
Evening Prayer Setting
By Sharon Dennis and Doris Au MacDonald
A new setting for evening prayer by Sharon Dennis and Doris Au MacDonald (authors of “Alleluia: a new communion setting”) was written for the Association of Lutheran Musicians 2012 Region IV Gathering in Thousand Oaks California. Scored for piano, guitar, optional flute and violin, this setting uses strong melodies and modern song structure for easy singability.

Sharon and Doris, I’m happy to report that we’ll be doing Joyous Light of Glory for our midweek Advent services in December 2013. My choir has begun learning the music and they like it. I’m hopeful it will be well received by the congregation. We’re teaching the worshipers a piece of the service each Sunday now until Thanksgiving. By 4 December, they’ll know it! Thanks for a great composition.
Thank you so much for your post, Rich! We trust that everything will go well and your congregation will be blessed! We appreciate your taking the time to let us know!
Doris and for Sharon
Lovely! Simple, easy to learn by rote, and a gorgeous musical setting for the text. Not easy to find these days. To my fellow church musician colleagues: Take note of The Braeded Chord!
